About Us
Dowsett Associates was formed over 15 years ago, providing Architectural Services and Planning Advice for a range of Clients. Over the past decade we have specialised in providing a dedicated service for residential properties and domestic Clients. We have a high degree of success in gaining planning permission and have built up an understanding of modern day family needs when designing new houses, extensions and loft conversions.
The Team Approach
Dowsett Associates operates a team approach and each project is carefully assessed before being handed to a team leader who will use the strengths of each of the professionals in order to ensure that each task is completed successfully.
The team is led by David Dowsett an Architectural technologist and son of business founder
Tim Dowsett 
M.I.Mgt., himself a former local authority Chief Officer who was advisor to his
Council's three planning committees for 20 years. The rest of the team includes a
practising Chartered Architectural Technologist, a Land Agent who is a consultant to a
national development company, and a former Local Authority Senior Building Control Officer
who specialises in building control advice.
Dowsett Associates are based in Hailsham, East Sussex and have subsequently built up professional
relationships with Planning Departments of Wealden District and Eastbourne Borough Council,
and Hastings and Rother Councils.
Measurement Surveys
Using traditional measuring techniques combined with latest laser and bluetooth
measuring technology we produce accurate plans of existing buildings.
These techniques ensure accurate plan production with the ability to check any
potential discrepancies and in turn correct them prior to leaving the site.
